Busy, Busy, Busy

About a month ago, I was freaking out. Today, after a lot of work on my own website and many project applications, I find myself in a completely different situation. If any of you out there are or know any talented, tech-savy knowledge workers looking for some part-time work, please drop me a line. Please know your away around the PC, email, Facebook, WordPress, and also be literate, responsible, responsive and willing to learn. Read the rest of this entry »

shopJPjewelry.com is LIVE!

2010-09-16

After months of dedicated work from both me, and my client, I am proud to announce that shopJPjewelry.com officially went live today.  Jeannette Perez, owner and jewelry designer, makes handmade vintage and fashion jewelry – and let me tell you, she is awesome!  And that says a lot, because I am not one for jewelry.

I will definitely be recommending her to all the people I know, especially for the holidays when everyone is looking for “that special gift.”  For those of you who know me personally, don’t be surprised if one of her creations becomes a gift from me to you.

This project also marks my first, full-fledged eCommerce site.  I developed it using a pre-designed theme, which I then customized to her liking.  Using this theme allowed me to save my client a lot of money, freeing the budget to help teach her how to run the site herself.  A win-win situation.

A New Week, A New Micah

2010-09-12

To say the least, it’s been a hell of a week.  I hit the wall earlier this week.  I’ve grown tired of being the nice guy with nothing to show for it.  No more Mr. Nice Guy!  I decided that I didn’t like the way things were going in my life, I wasn’t happy with the results.  I have changed my behavior and my results have changed in kind!  Don’t get me wrong, I’m still a very nice guy, but I will no longer hesitate to let the tiger out of the cage whenever necessary.

I have been fortunate to pick up a few new clients…  ahhhhh, it feels good.

I am building a website for a doctor who is going to release and market a unique diet plan, with the perspective that most overeaters are addicted to food, and that overeating can and should be treated like any other addiction.

I have another site to build for my first paying client here in Costa Rica, an awesome restaurant in Quepos.  I am really looking forward to this one.

Another client, Jeannette of JP Designs is almost ready go live and start selling her beautiful jewelry at www.shopJPjewelry.com This project is near and dear to my heart, as I met Jeannette and took this project on just before leaving for Costa Rica – both she and her husband are from Costa Rica!  It’s a small world and there are no accidents.

This is the first time in my life that I have ever truly and totally worked for myself.  If I don’t make it happen, nobody else will, and there is nobody else to point the finger at.  It’s liberating and scary.  I am the most demanding boss I’ve ever had!  If you are reading this and know anybody who needs or is thinking about building a website, please send them my way.  What goes around, comes around.  Let me know how I can help you.

Pura Vida from Costa Rica!
